CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating room | Mount Juliet, Tennessee

Step into a pivotal role supporting complex cardiovascular surgical care as an experienced RN specializing in CVOR. This contract opportunity offers exposure to state-of-the-art procedures in a 1,000+ bed hospital setting with an extensive 56-bed operating room suite and a Level 1 trauma designation. CVOR nurses will collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team, providing critical support in highly specialized cases.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Call required for all travelers in cardiac surgery; 3 layers of call coverage, 24/7 (requirements rotate every 6 weeks)
• Schedule flexibility required; days may vary depending on unit needs

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience essential
• Proven ability to both scrub and circulate in cardiac surgery settings
• Comfort with complex cardiac procedures: CABG, valve replacements, repeat surgeries, heart failure care, ECMO, VAD, transplant (heart/lung), PTE, cardiac trauma, adult congenital conditions
• Experience in high-acuity adult patient care (no pediatrics; children’s hospital OR is separate)
• Flexibility to float within the OR as needed (single location)
• Willingness to meet all call requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub and circulate in surgical procedures for adult cardiovascular patients
• Assist multidisciplinary teams in delivering optimum surgical and perioperative care
• Respond efficiently to emergent situations within a Level 1 trauma OR
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high safety protocols
• Educate patients and support families through perioperative phases
