Embark on a rewarding role as a Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse, delivering first-class care within a large, dynamic hospital environment. This position offers hands-on involvement with some of the most advanced cardiac surgical procedures and technologies.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
- Days will vary based on unit needs; block scheduling is not available
- Required on-call rotation, including three layers of call coverage 24/7 (schedule varies every 6 weeks)
- Multiple orientation dates available for onboarding
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license with current CVOR experience required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a CVOR OR setting
- Prior travel nursing experience is essential
- Proficient in scrubbing and circulating for cardiac surgeries
- Ability to perform in a large, fast-paced operating room environment (56-bed OR suite, Level 1 trauma)
- Comfortable caring for adult patients undergoing advanced cardiac procedures, including CABG, valve surgery, VAD, ECMO, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac trauma
- Must be prepared to float between operating rooms as needed (but not to other locations)
- Experience caring for adult populations; pediatric OR is handled separately
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate on complex cardiac cases alongside a highly skilled cardiac surgery team
- Support patients through the perioperative process for a variety of adult cardiac procedures -Respond efficiently in high-acuity and trauma situations
- Adapt to changing schedules and take on required call coverage as part of a collaborative team
