CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN) in New Castle, DE

Experienced Registered Nurses are sought to provide high-quality patient care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting. This contract opportunity focuses on collaborating with a multidisciplinary surgical team to deliver exceptional perioperative support.

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience preferred
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Proven expertise in circulating and scrubbing for open-heart or cardiovascular surgeries
• Strong understanding of sterile field protocols and OR procedures
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with surgeons and team members

Schedule:

• Contract length as specified during interview process
• Full-time hours; specific shifts and on-call requirements provided during hiring discussions

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care throughout all perioperative phases in the CVOR
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team during procedures
• Maintain a sterile environment and enforce sterile technique at all times
• Monitor patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively, responding to changes in condition promptly
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all care administered
• Stock, prepare, and verify equipment and supplies for cardiovascular cases
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
