Experienced Registered Nurses are sought to provide high-quality patient care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting. This contract opportunity focuses on collaborating with a multidisciplinary surgical team to deliver exceptional perioperative support.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience preferred
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Proven expertise in circulating and scrubbing for open-heart or cardiovascular surgeries
- Strong understanding of sterile field protocols and OR procedures
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with surgeons and team members
Schedule:
- Contract length as specified during interview process
- Full-time hours; specific shifts and on-call requirements provided during hiring discussions
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care throughout all perioperative phases in the CVOR
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team during procedures
- Maintain a sterile environment and enforce sterile technique at all times
- Monitor patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively, responding to changes in condition promptly
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all care administered
- Stock, prepare, and verify equipment and supplies for cardiovascular cases
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
