Experienced Registered Nurses with a passion for Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care are encouraged to explore this dynamic contract opportunity. Work within a collaborative and patient-centered environment, coordinating and delivering surgical nursing care to ensure the highest quality outcomes.

Schedule:

  • 5x8 hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as scheduled

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in nursing (required)
  • Active Registered Nurse license for the state of Alabama or a compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
  • Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS, or Red Cross equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, or 18 months with the highest level of licensure; at least 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
  • Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and delegation skills in a fast-paced setting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Circulate in CVOR and adapt to various units as required
  • Direct, plan, and coordinate compassionate, high-quality care for surgical patients
  • Foster positive, therapeutic relationships with patients and families by upholding professional nursing standards
  • Provide leadership by articulating care standards, delegating tasks, and supporting team members
  • Supervise and encourage LPNs, PCAs, Ortho Techs, and non-licensed staff
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality protocols
