CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating room - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Bring your expertise in cardiovascular operating room nursing to a dynamic healthcare environment dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. As an RN specialized in CVOR, you'll play a vital role in managing and delivering quality care for surgical patients while supporting and mentoring fellow team members. This contract opportunity requires flexibility and willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed.

Schedule & Hours

• 5x8 hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday shifts may be assigned

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact license (no temporary licenses accepted; must be NURSYS verifiable)
• Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS or Red Cross equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN; will consider candidates with 18 months of nursing experience and at least 1 year of recent CVOR specialty experience
• Proven ability to circulate in the cardiovascular operating room
• Willingness to float between units and different hospitals as needed

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining professional nursing practice standards
• Build positive therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
• Provide leadership by articulating care standards and delegating appropriately within the team
• Supervise and encourage growth among LPNs, PCAs, Ortho Techs, and other non-licensed staff
• Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
