Key Qualifications:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in a CVOR setting
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in sterile technique, circulating, and scrubbing in cardiovascular procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff
  • Commitment to upholding patient safety and quality standards throughout perioperative care

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries
  • Prepare surgical suites and necessary equipment according to facility protocols and surgeon preferences
  • Serve as a circulating and/or scrub nurse during procedures, anticipating needs to ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitor patient status intraoperatively, documenting accurately and intervening promptly as required
  • Educate patients and families on procedures and postoperative care considerations
  • Support quality assurance and compliance initiatives, including infection control practices
