Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid RN license
- Extensive clinical experience in CVOR nursing
- Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols
- Ability to collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and scrub techs
- Proficient critical thinking and emergency response skills
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Deliver direct preoperative and intraoperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgery patients
- Prepare, assess, and maintain the sterile field during all surgical procedures
- Monitor patient status and vital signs, responding promptly to changes or emergencies
- Ensure strict compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
- Function as a circulating or scrub nurse as required
- Support and educate patients and their families regarding perioperative care
