Provide specialized dialysis nursing care as a Registered Nurse experienced in dialysis treatments at a well-established healthcare system in Tuscaloosa, AL. This contract position offers flexibility with 36 or 48 hours per week and requires availability for holiday shifts and every other weekend coverage. The role involves working across multiple units, including the Regional and Northport campuses, delivering comprehensive care using bedside and peritoneal dialysis techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer dialysis treatments, including bedside and peritoneal dialysis, to inpatients and outpatients
  • Float between dialysis units at Regional (fourth floor) and Northport (main floor) campuses as needed
  • Coordinate with Certified Dialysis Technicians to prepare patients and equipment for treatment
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend on-call duties as required
  • Maintain accurate and legible patient documentation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year specifically in dialysis nursing
  • Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification
  • Professional Nursing Certification in nephrology or dialysis is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend English

Schedule:

  • Flexible 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Includes holiday shifts and every other weekend coverage
  • Regional campus hours: Monday-Saturday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, with Sunday and after-hours call
  • Northport campus hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, with call taken on other designated days
