Registered Nurse - Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab | Chesapeake, Virginia

Step into a specialized nursing opportunity within an EP Lab, utilizing your expertise in Electrophysiology and Cardiac care as a Registered Nurse. This contract role is designed for professionals experienced in the dynamic environment of electrophysiology procedures and patient support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Demonstrated experience working in an EP Lab (Electrophysiology)
• Strong understanding of cardiac rhythms, EP testing, and ablation procedures
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfort with both monitoring and scrubbing for EP procedures
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities

Schedule:

• Full-time hours; typical expectation of 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after electrophysiology procedures
• Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies, and collaborate closely with physicians and specialists during procedures
• Prepare equipment, assist with electrophysiological studies, ablations, and pacemaker/ICD placement
• Educate patients and families on procedure processes and aftercare
• Adhere to all safety and infection control policies to ensure patient and staff well-being
• Accurately complete documentation in the medical record and participate in continuous improvement efforts
