Join a fast-paced emergency nursing environment in Boston, MA, offering a 48-hour night shift contract with opportunities to enhance your clinical skills across multiple emergency care settings. Position Details:

  • Schedule: 48 hours per week, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
  • Shift Structure: 4 shifts of 12 hours each
  • Floating: Must be willing to float to Psychiatry ED and Pediatric ED (caring for patients 15+ years old unless pediatric experience is demonstrated)
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4-5, depending on acuity
  • Department Volume: Handles 350-440 patients daily, with up to 120 treatment areas; travelers will have assignments excluding trauma rooms

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED nursing experience, or 2+ years of recent Level 3/4 ED experience
  • Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass a telemetry test with at least 85% on Day 1
  • Required Certifications: Current and unexpired TNCC, BLS, and ACLS
  • Preferred Experience: EPIC electronic medical record system, prior travel nursing assignments, and critical care nursing background

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency patients with a focus on rapid assessment and intervention
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across ED, Psychiatry, and Pediatric units
  • Maintain accurate documentation and telemetry monitoring
  • Adapt to dynamic clinical situations while ensuring patient safety
