An opportunity has opened for a registered nurse with specialized skills in emergency nursing to provide critical care support in a high-volume emergency department. This contract position requires a dedicated professional ready to deliver expert patient care in a dynamic setting.
Location: Brockton, MA
Schedule:
- 48-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Four 12-hour shifts during the contract duration
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients aged 15 and older in emergency situations
- Float between Emergency Department (ED), Psychiatric ED, and Pediatric ED as assigned
- Independently monitor telemetry and interpret rhythm strips, identifying heart blocks accurately
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a busy department with up to 440 patients daily
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in Level I or II ED nursing or 2+ years recent experience in Level 3/4 ED
- Current certifications in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to pass a Telemetry Test with a score of 85% or higher on Day 1 of assignment
- Preferred experience with EPIC electronic medical records, critical care exposure, and prior travel nursing assignments
Work Environment:
This role is based in an extremely busy emergency department with up to 120 treatment areas. While travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms, the pace and acuity demand high-level clinical skills and adaptability.
