Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER RN) - Cambridge, MA

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Emergency Room care to provide compassionate, patient-centered service. This contract role involves working in a fast-paced hospital environment, supporting individuals with urgent medical needs. The schedule includes alternating four-week blocks of nights and days, with every other weekend and every other holiday coverage. Start dates are available on 4/6 or 4/20.

Schedule:

• 4 weeks of nights followed by 4 weeks of days (or vice versa, as part of a rotation)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) coverage

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care in a busy Emergency Room setting
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute and critical needs upon ER admission
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation of each patient’s status and interventions in electronic medical records
• Respond efficiently to emergencies, following hospital protocols for safety and infection control
• Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and home care as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license
• At least one year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (active and in good standing)
• Strong communication, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with the latest ER clinical practices and technology
