This opportunity is for a registered nurse specializing in emergency care, working on a contract basis in Chicago, IL. The position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide acute and emergency nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs, including trauma, pediatric, geriatric, OB, behavioral health, and chronic conditions
- Perform effective triage and prioritize care using clinical judgment and ENA guidelines for Emergency Severity Index (ESI) assignment
- Utilize medical equipment such as infusion pumps, monitors, defibrillators, and advanced emergency devices in patient assessment and care
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Respond to emergencies with quick decision-making and efficient clinical interventions
- Uphold patient safety, comfort, and privacy while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
Qualifications
- Active RN license with 2-3 years of experience in an emergency nursing role
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC, SANE, or ECRN certifications preferred
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
- Emotional resilience and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a calm, energetic, and team-oriented environment
Schedule/Hours
- Shift hours as assigned, including coverage of weekends and holidays as necessary
Additional Information
- Position does not require floating to other units
- Equipment and technology provided on site; no equipment issued offsite
- Orientation and any required education modules must be completed prior to the first shift
- Reporting location is in the emergency department; parking available on the far north side of the lot
