(RN) Registered Nurse - Emergency Room | Corning, New York

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Emergency Room care. This contract position is ideal for skilled ER nurses passionate about delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced setting. The Emergency Department features 48 treatment spaces and operates with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment for both staff and patients.

Key Details:

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, valid RN license
• Minimum of one year recent experience working as an RN in an Emergency Room (ED/ER) setting
• Proven ability to evaluate, monitor, and manage acute and critical patient conditions
• Strong assessment, triage, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with urgent and emergent health needs
• Triage patients according to acuity and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform procedures as permitted by license and facility guidelines
• Communicate clearly and professionally with interdisciplinary team members and families
• Document patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Adhere to safety protocols and uphold infection control best practices
