Emergency nursing here means tackling high-volume environments (treating over 60,000 patients annually) with nurse-to-patient ratios as low as 1:1 for critical care. Exposure to advanced practices will expand your expertise, while floating to other units and facilities builds flexibility and adaptability—essential qualities for any nursing career.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Flexible options: 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact state (no temporary licenses)
  • Certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS or Red Cross, NIH, TNCC, SECURE (on site)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience (will consider 18 months if under highest licensure, with 1 year recent ER experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a Level III Trauma and Level II Stroke Center
  • Float to other units and area hospitals as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Manage critical cases with ratios as low as 1:1
  • Contribute to patient safety and quality initiatives
