Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER RN) - Edison, NJ

Deliver high-quality patient care as an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse in a fast-paced clinical setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a dynamic team, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across the continuum of emergency care.

Schedule:

• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• 3 shifts per week
• Contract dates: 11/16/2026 – 02/13/2027

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license (required)
• Certification in BLS and ACLS (required)
• PALS certification required for pediatric emergency assignments
• 1+ year of recent experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department settings
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency in systematic, comprehensive patient assessments from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Skilled in direct patient care, emergency procedures, and use of emergency equipment
• Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage up to 7 patients per shift
• Meticulous with documentation following established guidelines and HIPAA requirements
• Knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals and commitment to safe patient handling
• Experience educating patients and families throughout pre-operative and postoperative processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and document thorough assessments and direct care for varied patient populations
• Respond to changing patient conditions and coordinate interdisciplinary care
• Provide patient and family education relevant to emergency procedures and perioperative care
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, upholding policy and best practice standards
• Support the completion of patient testing and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT)
• Foster a positive patient experience, ensuring the highest standards of safety and satisfaction
