Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic emergency department setting as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary nursing team. This contract role is ideal for someone passionate about relationship-based patient-centered care, who excels in a fast-paced environment and is committed to achieving optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and collaboration.
Schedule:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Variable days of the week
- On-call: Two 24-hour calls every 8 weeks
- Weekends: Minimum every other weekend
- Holidays: Minimum 2 major, 2 minor
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active RN license (single-state or multi-state compact)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- ACLS certification within 180 days of hire
- PALS certification within 180 days of hire
- TNCC certification within 18 months of hire
- Associate degree or diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience providing direct patient care in a hospital or emergency department setting preferred
- Strong English communication skills and proficiency with electronic documentation
- Critical thinking, composure, and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure and rapidly changing clinical environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document interventions using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Collaborate closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, continuously advocating for patient goals and safety
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in emergency care, adapting to the needs of varied patient populations
- Adhere to established policies, standards, and ethical guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety
- Participate in ongoing professional development, performance improvement initiatives, and shared governance activities
- Act as a mentor or preceptor to newer colleagues and students
