Step into a critical role providing expert emergency care in a busy, community-focused environment supporting patients of all ages. This contract opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse with ER expertise, especially those ready to practice at a high professional standard and adapt to a dynamic setting.
Schedule & Shift Details:
- 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
- Every other weekend required (Friday–Sunday)
- No on-call, but floating to other units including COVID possible
- 8-week contract
- Block scheduling not available
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license (GA or compact state) in hand
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, NIH Stroke, and TNCC (must have TNCC upon submission)
- Minimum 2 years’ recent ER experience
- Proficiency with EPIC charting systems
- Willingness to float, including to COVID unit
- Preference for Level I Trauma Center, ventilated patient, and triage experience
- First-time travelers considered; travel experience preferred
- Agreement to work every other weekend and accept standard ratios (1:4 nurse-to-patient)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver competent emergency care to a range of patients, from pediatrics to geriatric
- Manage acute medical incidents including DKA, COPD, stroke, cardiac and abdominal pain, and psychiatric crises
- Rapidly triage, stabilize, and treat in a non-trauma designated facility moving toward trauma designation
- Accurately document using EPIC
- Collaborate in an evolving environment with a focus on best practices and shared governance
- Adapt to changing patient populations and occasionally float to different units as needed
