Step into a fast-paced emergency care environment serving patients across all age groups in a non-trauma designated unit preparing for significant growth and leadership transformation. This 8-week contract position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who thrive in dynamic settings and are eager to provide critical care for a diverse range of diagnoses, including DKA, COPD, stroke, chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric emergencies. Embrace a collaborative atmosphere focused on implementing best practices and shared governance with an aim toward trauma designation.
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Every other weekend required (Friday-Sunday)
- No block scheduling
- No call
- Floating may be required, including to the COVID unit
Required Qualifications:
- Current state RN license (GA or compact), in hand
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications, all active upon start
- Minimum of 2 years recent emergency department experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
- Commitment to working every other weekend and acknowledgment of a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in a Level I Trauma Center
- Experience caring for ventilated patients
- Strong triage skills
- First-time travelers considered, though prior travel experience preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-moving ER setting
- Triage and assess patients of all ages with a broad spectrum of acute conditions
- Adapt to changing priorities, including floating to units as needed
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction
- Accurately document in EPIC
