This opportunity places you in a busy urban emergency department with 31 beds and an average daily census of 78, providing care to all ages, from infants through geriatrics. The unit welcomes your expertise across a spectrum of emergencies, including complex cardiovascular, trauma, behavioral health, and critical medical conditions, offering rich experiences and professional growth. Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: Days (7AM–7PM), Mids (11AM–11PM), Nights (7PM–7AM)
- Every 3rd weekend rotation required
- Holiday work follows a fair rotation
- Schedules in 6-week increments, flexibility considered
Responsibilities
- Triage and manage critical patients—heart failure, trauma, sepsis, DKA, and more
- Skillfully initiate IVs, start foleys/NG tubes, conduct neuro assessments (NIHSS)
- Respond to codes; manage pressors, sedation, and cardiac drips
- Support bedside procedures, provide moderate sedation
- Lead ER care with expertise, adaptability, and teamwork
Ideal Qualifications
- Unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 2 years ER experience (travel experience required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Excellent adaptability and collaborative skills
