A registered nurse with emergency department expertise is needed for a contract position in Lowell, MA. This role requires strong assessment and clinical skills within a Level I, II, or 3/4 Emergency Department setting. Providing care in a highly active ED environment, flexibility to float to Psychiatric and Pediatric ED areas is essential.
Schedule/Hours:
- 48 hours per week, night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.)
- Four 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care for 4 to 5 patients per shift depending on acuity
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; identify heart blocks
- Pass a Telemetry Test with a score of 85% or higher on Day 1 of assignment
- Float to Psych ED and Pediatric ED (patients 15 years and older) as needed
- Maintain high-quality care in a fast-paced ED serving up to 440 patients daily
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in Level I or II ED; or
- 2+ years of recent experience in Level 3/4 ED
- Active/unexpired certifications: TNCC, BLS, ACLS
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips confidently
- Preferred experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Previous travel assignments and critical care experience are valued
