(RN) Registered Nurse - Emergency Room | Macon, Georgia

Step into a dynamic, high-acuity emergency department as a Registered Nurse bringing your expertise to a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital with 637 licensed beds and a robust support system. Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years recent emergency department RN experience; Level I Trauma experience preferred (Level II considered with manager approval)
• First-time travelers welcome
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm); must pass EKG competency exam
• 6+ months previous EPIC experience
• Preferred: National Emergency Nursing Certification
• Skilled in advanced drips (Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver care to ED patients presenting with chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, trauma, mental health and more; average patient ratio is 1:4
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including CNAs, unit secretaries, phlebotomy, PICC team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
• Utilize advanced equipment and technology including Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, PCA, rapid infusers, and more
• Participate in centralized telemetry monitoring and respond to urgent patient needs swiftly
• Float as needed within the ER (additional site floating possible but not guaranteed)
• Attend a comprehensive orientation to ensure a smooth transition
