Experienced ER Registered Nurses are sought for a contract assignment in a dynamic, high-acuity facility offering a robust clinical environment. This opportunity spans from July 20, 2026, to October 17, 2026, in a 71-bed Level II Trauma Emergency Department noted for its challenging and rewarding caseload.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Schedule cycle: 4 weeks
- Weekend rotation required: every other weekend or four weekend days per month if on a block schedule
- No on-call
- Expectation to work one major and one minor holiday (per facility policy); facility blackout dates apply
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ recent ER experience in a Level II Trauma center or above required
- Experience with Cerner or Epic EMR preferred
- First-time travelers welcome with required experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and Secure/CPI certification (nationally recognized/JCAHO accepted)
- Proficient in high-acuity care skills including trach and vent care, ICU drips, art line, CVL, PICC, midline, port, splint/Ortho device application, chest tubes, foley, bipap/hiflow, and continuous bladder irrigation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert emergency nursing care for diverse populations (multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI/GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, psychiatry)
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in ER, 1:5 for MS holds, and 1:3 for ICU holds
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, and on-site phlebotomy and IV teams
- Efficiently utilize facility technology (e.g., Cerner, Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell, Spacelabs monitors)
- Adhere to unit and facility protocols in a fast-paced setting
