Take on a crucial role in a high-acuity emergency department renowned for its advanced trauma care and dynamic patient environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced ER nurses seeking professional growth and exposure to a wide variety of complex cases. This assignment runs from July 20, 2026, through October 17, 2026.
Schedule:
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts
- 4-week scheduling cycle
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month for block scheduling
- Holiday coverage: One major and one minor holiday per policy
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (ER, ICU, MS hold) required
- Recent (within 1 year) Level II ER experience for seasoned travelers
- Strongly prefer Cerner or EPIC proficiency
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted)
Essential Skills:
- Expert in trauma care, vent management, and trach care
- Proficient with chest tubes, art lines, CVL, midline, ports, foleys, PICC insertion, orthopedic splint/device care, bipap/hiflow, and continuous bladder irrigation
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional care to diverse patients—multi-system trauma, cardiac, neuro, OB/GYN, pediatric, psychiatric, and more
- Manage patient ratios: 1:4 (ER), 1:5 (MS hold), 1:3 (ICU hold)
- Utilize advanced equipment: Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, Spacelabs monitors
- Participate in a supportive environment with CNAs, charge nurses, HUCs, phlebotomy, IV/VAT support, and hospitalists
Additional Details:
- Structured orientation: 24 hours classroom/24 hours on-unit for new or returning travelers
- No floating to other units required
- Up to 7 days approved time off (excluding blackout dates)
- Wear any solid color scrubs; parking garage access provided
