Embark on a dynamic contract assignment providing high-acuity patient care within a busy, 71-bed Level II Trauma emergency department. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinical teams and engage with diverse patient populations, ranging from multi-system trauma to pediatrics and specialized medical emergencies.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p)
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend or four weekend days per month (if on a block schedule)
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage may be needed per facility policy
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Active RN license with a minimum of two years of recent critical care experience (ICU, ER, or MS hold), including at least one year in a Level II Emergency Room
- First-time travelers welcome if meeting experience requirements and proficient with Cerner or Epic
- Solid background managing patient types such as trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI/GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted)
- Proficient in trach care, ventilator management, ICU drips, art lines, CVLs, chest tubes, PICCs, Foley/midline/port care, splint/ortho, BiPAP/HiFlow, and continuous bladder irrigation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality nursing care to high-acuity patients under demanding conditions
- Maintain recommended patient ratios: 1:4 ER, 1:5 MS Holds, 1:3 ICU Holds
- Utilize advanced equipment such as Cerner EMR, Omnicell, Spacelabs monitors, and Plum 360 pumps
- Collaborate with supportive unit staff, including CNAs, phlebotomists, charge nurses, HUCs, and hospitalists
