Advance your nursing career in a dynamic emergency department as an experienced Registered Nurse. This contract opportunity offers the chance to practice within a non-trauma designated facility caring for a diverse patient population, from pediatric to geriatric, managing cases such as DKA, COPD, stroke, chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric presentations. The team is currently progressing through a trauma designation review, with ongoing leadership transformation focused on best practice and shared governance.

Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Every other weekend required (Friday–Sunday)
  • No on-call expectations
  • No block scheduling
  • Floating may be required, including possible COVID unit assignments

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (GA or compact), in hand
  • At least 2 years of ED nursing experience
  • TNCC certification, in hand, at the time of submission
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale
  • Proficient in EPIC charting
  • Flexibility to float and care for all patient age groups

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Ventilated patient management
  • Strong triage background
  • First-time travelers will be considered, but prior travel experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based emergency care across all acuity levels
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team as the unit transitions towards trauma designation
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4
  • Adapt to evolving department protocols and shared governance initiatives
