Experienced registered nurses are sought for an engaging opportunity in a dynamic Emergency Department. This contract role is ideal for clinicians ready to support a diverse patient population in a non-trauma designated facility that treats patients across all age groups. You’ll be working alongside a team committed to best practices and continuous improvement, as the unit undergoes trauma designation review and leadership reorganization.

Schedule:

  • 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Must be available to work every other weekend (Friday–Sunday)
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to the COVID unit as needed
  • No block scheduling

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license (GA or compact, in-hand)
  • Minimum of two years of recent emergency department experience
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, NIH, and TNCC (must be current at submission)
  • Experience with EPIC charting
  • Agreement to work every other weekend and acknowledge a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Strong assessment and triage skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Experience with ventilated patients
  • Triage experience
  • While first-time travelers are welcome, prior travel experience is valued

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care for a wide range of emergencies, including DKA, COPD, stroke, chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric cases
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop best practices during trauma review and restructuring
  • Maintain accurate documentation utilizing EPIC charting system
  • Flexibly adapt to floating assignments, including infectious disease units as required
