Registered Nurse - Emergency Room in Painted Post, NY

An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to contribute compassionate, expert care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position is ideal for a dynamic RN with solid experience in emergency nursing, ready to work night shifts in a 48-treatment space ED. You’ll play a vital role in a dedicated team, delivering high-quality service and ensuring excellent patient outcomes.

Schedule:

• 3x12-hour night shifts per week

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license with active, unencumbered status
• Minimum of one year of recent experience working in an Emergency Department setting
• Proficiency with rapid clinical decision-making, triage, and evidence-based interventions
• Experience managing 1:5 patient ratios in a busy ED
• BLS and ACLS certifications (additional ER certifications preferred)
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Adaptable and composed under pressure, with a focus on compassionate patient care

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage urgent and emergent patients within the ER, utilizing advanced nursing skills
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to deliver the highest standard of care
• Accurately document interventions, medications, and events in the EMR
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions and actively participate in code situations
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital protocols
