Key Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certifications required (TNCC/ATCN/CEN highly preferred)
- Demonstrated ED proficiency caring for all age groups—infant through geriatric
- Proven ability to conduct advanced patient assessments and prioritize patient needs efficiently
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, using SBAR for all handoffs
- Previous experience with electronic health records preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments at admission and throughout the shift, addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
- Develop, review, and update individualized patient care plans based on systematic data from multiple sources
- Administer and document medications and treatments safely, monitoring for effectiveness and untoward reactions
- Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, utilizing appropriate teaching resources
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary planning and participate actively in patient discharge processes
- Follow hospital protocols for infection control, safety, and the National Patient Safety Goals—including two patient identifiers, incident response codes, and disaster plans
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation
