Qualifications/Experience:

• Current RN licensure required
• Experience in emergency department nursing, caring for patients across the age continuum (infant to geriatric)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC required; TNCC/ATCN/CEN strongly preferred
• Proficient in advanced patient assessment and complex care delivery in high-acuity settings
• Strong communication skills, including SBAR handoff techniques
• Familiarity with rapid assessment and patient flow techniques in the ED
• Knowledge of disaster planning and emergency response roles

Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely, comprehensive assessments of ER patients, including consideration of physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs
• Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on reassessment and interdisciplinary input
• Administer medications and treatments following safety standards and “seven rights”
• Document care, interventions, and patient progress legibly and accurately
• Educate patients and families as appropriate, supporting understanding and patient-centered care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, communicate effectively with the healthcare team, and escalate as necessary
• Maintain strict adherence to hospital safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols
