Make a meaningful impact working with a high-acuity emergency department operating at a Level II trauma designation and functioning at the intensity of a Level I facility. You'll provide skilled care across a wide range of patient populations—including multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, pediatric, psychiatric, OB/GYN, GI, and GU—in a collaborative and technologically advanced environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, 7:00am–7:00pm
- Rotating weekends: every other, or 4 weekend days per month
- 4-week schedule cycles
- No on-call requirements
- Must be available to work at least one major and one minor holiday as per policy (not automatically assigned)
- Up to 7 days requested time off can be approved, excluding designated blackout dates
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with a minimum of two years' recent ER experience, preferably in Level II trauma or higher
- Experience with Cerner or Epic EMR systems strongly preferred
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and Secure/CPI (JACHO-accepted) certifications required
- Proficiency in critical care skills: trach, vent, and ICU drip care, chest tubes, art lines, CVL, PICC, midline, ports, foley management, orthopedic device care, BiPAP/HiFlow, and bladder irrigation
- Strong teamwork and adaptability in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care to patients with a diverse array of high-acuity conditions
- Maintain safe patient ratios: 1:4 ER, 1:5 MS Holds, 1:3 ICU Holds
- Utilize advanced technology including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitoring
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including dedicated charge nurse, CNA, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists
- Complete thorough orientation: 24 hours classroom and 24 hours on-unit for new or returning travelers
