Advance your nursing career with a contract role in a dynamic, high-acuity emergency department. This assignment runs from July 20, 2026, to October 17, 2026, offering you the opportunity to work in a 71-bed, Level II Trauma center functioning at the intensity of a Level I facility.

Schedule:

  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. shifts
  • Every other weekend or four weekend days per month (block schedule)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Holiday and blackout date policies apply; up to 7 days off approved (excluding blackout dates)
  • 4-week schedule cycles

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years’ critical care experience (preferably in ICU, ER, or MS hold); at least 1 recent year in a Level II ER
  • Cerner or EPIC EMR proficiency
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted), NIHSS; TNCC required
  • Skilled in trach and vent care, ICU drips, chest tube, art line, CVL, picc, midline, port, foley, splint/ortho device care, bipap/hiflow, continuous bladder irrigation
  • First-time travelers welcome if experienced with Cerner/EPIC and Level II or higher Trauma

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases
  • Maintain safe patient ratios: 1:4 ER, 1:5 MS Holds, 1:3 ICU Holds
  • Collaborate with unit-based support team: CNAs, charge nurses, HUC, phlebotomy (until 0300), IV/VAT team, hospitalists
  • Use advanced technology: Cerner, Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell, Spacelabs monitors

Additional Details:

  • Orientation: 24 hours classroom, 24 hours unit-based for new/returning travelers (rehire orientation varies)
  • Scrub attire: Any solid color
