A contract opportunity is available for an experienced emergency room Registered Nurse. This role supports a high acuity Level II trauma center with 71 beds, functioning similarly to a Level I. Your expertise will be invaluable in delivering high-quality care to a diverse range of patients, including trauma, cardiac, pediatric, psychiatric, and more.
Schedule:
- 7:00am – 7:00pm shifts
- 4-week scheduling cycle
- Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month (block schedule option)
- No on-call required
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years' recent Level II ER (or above) critical care experience
- Experience with Cerner or EPIC strongly preferred
- Recent experience in ICU, ER, or MS holds for travelers, including at least one year in a Level II trauma ER
- Will consider first-time travelers if above criteria are met
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted), NIHSS, TNCC
- Proficiency in: trach and vent care, chest tubes, art lines, central lines, PICCs, midlines, ports, foley, splint/orthopedic devices, BiPAP/HiFlow, ICU drips, and continuous bladder irrigation
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity environment, ensuring safety and clinical excellence
- Respond to trauma, stroke, STEMI, OB/GYN, pediatric, and psychiatric emergencies
- Utilize Cerner EMR, Omnicell, Plum 360 IV pumps, and Spacelabs monitors
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists
Additional Information:
- Orientation includes 24 hours classroom and 24 hours on-unit for new or rehire travelers (based on previous absence)
- Scrub color: any solid color
- Parking available in on-site garage
- Holiday staff coverage required per facility policy (please note provided blackout dates for scheduling)
- Up to 7 days off may be approved, excluding blackout periods
