Role Overview: As a skilled Emergency Room RN, you’ll deliver expert care to patients across the age continuum, from pediatric to geriatric, during some of their most vulnerable moments. By collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll be at the forefront of patient-centered emergency medicine, adapting to rapidly changing situations and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in all aspects of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs within required timeframes.
- Update and revise individualized care plans based on ongoing assessment data.
- Safely administer and document medications and treatments using established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams, utilizing SBAR for thorough hand-offs.
- Provide education to patients and their families tailored to assessed needs.
- Adhere to hospital protocols regarding infection control, patient safety, documentation, and National Patient Safety Goals.
- Participate in emergency drills and maintain readiness for rapid response situations.
- Advocate for patient rights, safety, and confidentiality at every stage of care.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with Emergency Department experience.
- Strong knowledge of advanced patient assessment, prioritizing in high-acuity situations.
- Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC required; TNCC/ATCN/CEN preferred.
- Demonstrated capability to handle high-risk medication administration.
