Key qualifications:

• Active RN license, with extensive Emergency Department experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC certifications (TNCC/ATCN/CEN preferred)
• Skilled in advanced patient assessment for all age groups
• Proven ability in administering high-risk medications and managing critical care scenarios
• Strong documentation, patient advocacy, and education abilities
• Experience following infection control, safety protocols, and Core Measures guidelines

Typical responsibilities:

• Initial and ongoing patient assessment, including interpreting and acting upon diagnostic data
• Creating and updating individualized care plans and documenting progress
• Administering medications by the 7 rights and evaluating effectiveness
• Performing procedures to policy and standard precautions
• Educating patients and families about care and discharge planning
• Participating in multidisciplinary planning and effectively communicating changes in patient status
• Adhering to national safety goals and facility protocols for codes and emergencies
• Supporting patient flow, admissions, and discharges within the ED
• Completing ED skills checklists, contributing to quality improvement, and engaging in professional development
