Travel (RN) Registered Nurse - Emergency Room | Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Working in a 31-bed Emergency Department, you'll encounter a diverse patient mix—including infants through geriatrics—and manage a wide variety of cases, from cardiac events and traumas to behavioral health and post-transplant complications. This opportunity not only enhances your ER expertise but also exposes you to different patient populations and collaborative team approaches, broadening your clinical and leadership skills.

Schedule/Hours

• 12-hour shifts: Days (0700-1900), Mids (1100-2300), Nights (1900-0700)
• Every 3rd weekend rotation
• Holiday expectations on a rotating schedule
• 6-week scheduling cycle

Responsibilities

• Triage and provide high-quality emergency care for diverse patient populations
• Manage patient loads (1:4-5 RN ratio)
• Start IVs, insert foleys/NG tubes, perform neuro assessments (NIHSS)
• Initiate and titrate pressors, cardiac drips, sedation, and insulin drips
• Respond to codes, provide hyper/hypothermia care, and assist bedside procedural sedation
• Demonstrate adaptability, serve as a subject matter expert, and foster teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience (any trauma level)
• Cerner EMR familiarity preferred
• Strong IV and procedural skills; confident in rapid decision-making
• Not accepting first-time travelers
