Registered Nurse - Emergency Room in Suffolk, VA

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in an emergency setting as a Registered Nurse with expertise in emergency medicine. As a contract RN in the Emergency Department, you’ll play a critical role in assessing, treating, and supporting patients during acute episodes—helping save lives while working alongside a dynamic clinical team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of one year recent nursing experience in an emergency department
• BLS and ACLS certifications (additional certifications such as PALS/TNCC are a plus)
• Proven ability to remain calm and focused while multitasking in high-pressure situations
• Proficiency in electronic health records and standard ER documentation procedures
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct prompt, accurate triage and assessment for a diverse patient population presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per established protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary support staff to devise and implement care plans
• Prioritize patient needs while maintaining meticulous recordkeeping and upholding compliance standards
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families in urgent and often stressful circumstances
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives to uphold the highest standards of patient care
