This specialized emergency department assignment is designed for registered nurses eager to elevate their expertise by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to evolving clinical practices, learn from exceptional healthcare leaders, and deepen your skill set by floating to various units and hospitals within the system. Schedule / Hours:

  • Choose either 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in nursing (required)
  • Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact state (no temporary licenses)
  • Certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS or RED CROSS, NIH, TNCC, and SECURE (on site)
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience required, but will consider 18 months under the highest level license, with at least 1 year recent specialty experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert emergency nursing care to all age groups
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary support staff
  • Float to other units and partner hospitals as needed
  • Uphold patient safety and quality care standards
  • Respond to trauma, critical care, and emergent needs in a high-volume setting
