As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of a patient-focused team that delivers expert emergency care across all age groups. This Level III Trauma and Level II Stroke Center serves over 60,000 patients annually, ideal for nurses seeking to expand their skills in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with exposure to best-in-class trauma, stroke, and emergent care protocols. Working alongside collaborative physicians, NPs, and support staff, you'll encounter diverse clinical cases, benefit from various leadership styles, and develop adaptability by floating to other units and partnering facilities—all highly valued experiences for your nursing résumé.

Schedule/Hours

  • Flexible options: 36 or 48 scheduled hours per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage, as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing
  • Active RN license in Alabama or compact state, NURSYS verified (no temporary licenses)
  • AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS or Red Cross, NIHSS certification
  • TNCC and SECURE (training available onsite)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience, or 18 months if under highest level license, and at least 1 year of recent ER specialty work

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert care in a 54-bed, state-designated trauma and stroke center
  • Float as needed to various units and area hospitals
  • Ensure a safe, compassionate environment for patients of all ages and acuity levels
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes
