Step into a dynamic emergency care setting that demands expertise and adaptability. This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with ER experience to deliver high-quality care to patients of all ages. Over an 8-week period, you’ll contribute to a unit currently enhancing best practices and adopting shared governance, caring for a diverse population and assisting with clinical improvements.
Schedule & Hours:
- Night shifts: Three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
- No block scheduling
- Every other weekend required (Friday–Sunday)
- On-call not required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active state RN license (GA or compact) in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, NIH, and TNCC (must have TNCC at submission)
- EPIC charting proficiency
- Willingness to float, including to COVID units
- Comfortable acknowledging a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Ability to work every other weekend
Preferred Background:
- Experience in Level I Trauma Centers
- Familiarity with ventilated patients and ER triage
- Unit open to first-time travelers (experienced travelers preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, efficient emergency care to patients presenting with conditions such as DKA, COPD, stroke, chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric cases
- Manage priorities in a non-trauma designated facility preparing for trauma review
- Participate in continuous unit improvements and support clinical best practices
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
