This travel role places you in a busy, advanced Emergency Department renowned for its commitment to excellence as a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff, you will sharpen your clinical skills and grow as a professional through daily exposure to diverse workplace practices and innovative leadership approaches.
You'll have the opportunity to flex your schedule with either 36 or 48 hours per week, float across various units and affiliated hospitals, and treat patients across all age groups. With a nurse-to-patient ratio meticulously maintained to support optimal patient outcomes, you’ll find your expertise valued and your contributions vital.
Schedule/Hours:
- Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in nursing (required)
- Active Registered Nurse license (Alabama or Compact; no temporary licenses accepted)
- AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS or Red Cross equivalent
- NIH Stroke certification
- TNCC and SECURE (on site)
- 2 years’ experience preferred; will consider 18 months with at least 1 year of recent specialty experience
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional, evidence-based emergency care in a fast-paced trauma/stroke center
- Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and support staff to assess, treat, and triage patients
- Float to other units or affiliated hospitals as needed, adapting to various workflows
- Respond swiftly and expertly to critical situations, ensuring the best outcomes
