Registered Nurse - Emergency Room in West Hartford, CT

A dynamic healthcare environment is seeking an experienced RN with a background in Emergency Room care to provide high-quality patient support. This contract role is ideal for nursing professionals who thrive in fast-paced ER settings and are prepared to work closely with both patients and interdisciplinary teams.

Schedule:

• Two shift options: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm or 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
• Participation in call rotation:
  • One weekday call (3:30 pm – 7:00 pm)
  • One weekend shift every four weeks (7:00 am – 7:00 pm)

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Demonstrated experience in an Emergency Room environment
• Certification by NMTCB or ARRT(N) required
• Proven skills in rapid patient assessment and critical thinking
• Strong communication abilities and collaborative spirit
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
• Flexibility to participate in scheduled call rotations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver rapid, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing medical emergencies
• Assess, triage, and prioritize cases efficiently under high-pressure circumstances
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor vital signs, and perform advanced nursing procedures
• Coordinate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare staff as part of the ER team
• Keep accurate, detailed patient records in compliance with all relevant requirements
• Support patient and family understanding of treatment, procedures, and discharge instructions
