Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER RN) - Wetumpka, Alabama

This contract opportunity runs from July 20, 2026, to October 17, 2026, within a high-acuity, 71-bed Level II trauma unit functioning at the highest level. Experience a dynamic, collaborative setting grounded in advanced clinical care for critical cases such as multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, pediatric and OB/GYN emergencies, psychiatric presentations, and more.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00am – 7:00pm
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month (block scheduling available)
• No on-call required
• Must observe holiday coverage per facility policy

Qualifications

• Active RN license and required credentials: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency/critical care experience in Level II or higher trauma environments
• Proficiency with Cerner or EPIC EMR strongly preferred
• Competency in trach/vent care, ICU drips, chest tube/arterial line/CVL management, orthopedic device care, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Confident in handling diverse patient populations and ages

Core Duties

• Deliver comprehensive emergency and trauma nursing care with patient ratios of 1:4 (ER), 1:5 (MS holds), and 1:3 (ICU holds)
• Collaborate daily with CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, IV/VAT teams, and additional onsite support
• Operate state-of-the-art technology (Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell dispensing, Spacelabs monitors)
• Participate in 48-hour orientation (combination of classroom and unit) if new or returning after 1+ year absence

$1,845 - $2,007/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
