Exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse First Assist to join a dynamic surgical team on a contract basis. This position offers a challenging, collaborative environment where your expertise will make a real difference in patient care.
Schedule Details:
- 18-week assignment
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (Day shift: 6:30 am – 5:00 pm)
- Includes call: Weekday call as late as 11:00 pm at least once weekly
- At least one continuous weekend of call (Friday–Monday, 6:30 am) per six-week period
Qualifications:
- Current and active California RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current)
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent RN First Assist experience
- Proficient in assisting with surgical procedures across various specialties
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with surgeons and perioperative teams
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide intraoperative assistance to surgeons as an RNFA according to established protocols
- Participate in preoperative assessments and preparation of surgical patients
- Manage and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control standards
- Offer perioperative patient education and support as needed
- Document patient information, surgical interventions, and outcomes accurately
