First Assist First Assist - Arvin, California

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – First Assist to support surgical teams for a 13-week engagement. This role is ideal for a skilled RN First Assist committed to optimal patient outcomes and effective collaboration in the operating room.

Schedule/Hours:

• 4x10 hour shifts, Days
• 6:45am – 5:15pm
• No call required

Qualifications:

• Valid and unrestricted CA RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience as a RN First Assist
• Proven proficiency supporting surgeons with both open and minimally invasive procedures
• Strong communication skills and capacity to thrive under pressure

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct assistance to surgeons during operative procedures, including tissue handling, wound exposure, suturing, and hemostasis
• Oversee patient safety throughout the perioperative process
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
• Participate in preoperative planning and post-surgical debriefings
• Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols and documentation requirements
