Step into an essential perioperative nursing role where your expertise as an RN First Assist will be valued and challenged. This position centers on providing advanced surgical assistance and patient care within an engaging and supportive environment. The assignment spans 18 weeks, ideal for professionals wanting to make an immediate, meaningful impact.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 18-week assignment
  • Four 10-hour day shifts per week (6:30 am – 5:00 pm)
  • On-call hours: Weekday end-of-shift coverage until 11:00 pm at least once weekly
  • At least one continuous weekend on call (Friday through Monday, 6:30 am) per six-week period

Required Qualifications:

  • Active California RN license in good standing
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RN First Assist
  • Strong surgical skillset, ability to function autonomously and collaboratively
  • Adaptability to varied shifts and responsive on-call rotation
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly assist surgeons intraoperatively, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Anticipate surgical team needs; handle instruments and supplies with precision
  • Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal surgical workflows
  • Participate in patient and family education, supporting clear communication throughout care episodes
