Step into a critical, hands-on role supporting perioperative care with this 13-week assignment utilizing your advanced nursing skills as a First Assist RN. This contract opportunity is designed for experienced professionals seeking meaningful work in a dynamic surgical environment.

Schedule:

• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
• Hours: 6:45 am – 5:15 pm
• No on-call requirements

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active California RN license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• At least 3 years of experience as an RN First Assist in the operating room
• Proficient in intraoperative assisting, preoperative and postoperative patient assessments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgical teams and support staff

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert first-assist care during a variety of surgical procedures in collaboration with surgeons and operating room personnel
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative and postoperative nursing assessments to ensure patient safety and support optimal recovery
• Provide sterile technique, proper instrument handling, and timely intervention during all phases of the surgical process
• Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Participate in patient and family education related to surgical care and recovery
