Step into an essential role providing surgical assistance as a Registered Nurse First Assist on a dedicated 13-week contract. Your expertise will support positive surgical outcomes while collaborating closely with surgical teams committed to exceptional patient care.

Schedule:

• 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
• Day shift: 6:45am – 5:15pm
• No on-call requirements

Qualifications:

• Active California RN license
• BLS certification (current)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a First Assist RN in the operating room
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, instrumentation, and perioperative best practices

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, utilizing advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Optimize patient safety through intraoperative support, including retraction, suturing, and instrumentation management
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary surgical team members to ensure optimal workflow and outcomes
• Provide pre- and post-operative assessments and collaborate on patient care planning
• Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements
• Keep current with advances in surgical nursing practices by participating in ongoing education and skill development
