Seeking an experienced RN First Assist to provide expert perioperative care and support within a dynamic surgical setting. This contract opportunity requires advanced clinical skills and the ability to collaborate closely with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, with credentials in RN First Assist (RNFA)
  • Successful completion of a RNFA program accredited by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Previous experience as an RN First Assist in a perioperative or surgical environment
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and best practices for patient safety
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons intraoperatively by providing direct patient care during surgeries, including tissue handling, exposure, and suturing
  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly set up and maintained
  • Monitor patient status throughout procedures, anticipating surgical team needs to optimize case flow
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other perioperative staff to deliver high-quality care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Adhere to strict infection control guidelines and hospital policies
  • Document care provided accurately and promptly in patient records

$3,370 - $3,686/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
