Deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic ICU setting as an experienced Registered Nurse. This contract opportunity places you at the forefront of critical care, supporting a range of specialized units including MICU, STICU, NICU, CVICU, and PCU. Contribute to a large, multidisciplinary hospital environment with Level 1 trauma designation, offering exposure to advanced cases and teaching opportunities.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Rotating weekends: 5-6 out of every 12 shifts per 6-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage expectation: at least one major holiday per schedule cycle
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Comfortable with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Pyxis systems
- Strong competency with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucose monitoring
- Confident in managing and titrating drips: insulin, heparin, narcotic, paralytic, vasopressors, sedation, and cardiac
- EKG competence (passing exam during onboarding)
- Willingness to float to Med/Tele units as needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-level, individualized care to critically ill patients in various ICUs and step-down units
- Collaborate within a team-oriented unit—working alongside CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and 24/7 respiratory and physician support
- Participate in departmental and facility orientation, plus continued education modules
- Accurately monitor, assess, and report on patient status using central telemetry and unit-specific technology
- Assist with department support duties as needed and document thoroughly in EPIC
