Critical Care Nurse in Chicago, IL

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year experience in an ICU setting
• Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Exceptional communication and patient advocacy abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, perform advanced assessments, and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced therapies in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to develop and implement care plans
• Provide family education and emotional support as part of holistic patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation of all care, assessments, and interventions
• Uphold rigorous safety and infection control standards at all times
