Providing expert care in a high-acuity cardiovascular intensive care unit, this RN role demands strong critical thinking and advanced skills in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Candidates with at least two years of ICU experience will thrive in this challenging environment, focused on post-cardiac surgery and support device management.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience, preferably in CVICU
  • Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz and arterial lines
  • Skilled in ventilator management and critical care protocols
  • Current Texas RN license (active, no temporary licenses)
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
  • Experience with cardiac support devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry advantageous

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to post-CABG, VAD, and cath lab patients
  • Conduct meticulous patient assessments and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Adhere to unit policies including floating assignments and punctual attendance
  • Maintain professional appearance with navy scrubs and adhere to grooming standards

Work Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7 AM to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Rotating weekends
  • Approximately 36 guaranteed hours per week
