Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Des Plaines, IL

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract-based assignment
• Variable shifts may be available based on department needs

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license
• Proven experience in an ICU or critical care setting
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and emergency response skills
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive care to critically ill patients, including frequent assessment and monitoring of vital signs, neurological status, and other clinical indicators
• Implement physician orders, essential interventions, and prescribed therapies promptly and accurately
• Utilize advanced technologies, such as ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, in patient care
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition and provide effective interventions
• Educate and support patients’ families, addressing questions and providing updates on patient status
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records in compliance with all regulations and facility protocols
• Participate in code situations and rapid response team activities as required
