Seeking a highly skilled RN with ICU expertise for a contract position providing exceptional patient care during overnight shifts. This role involves working in a dynamic and supportive critical care environment, ensuring best practices are met for every patient.
Schedule/Hours:
- 4x8-hour night shifts
- 23:00 – 07:30
- Weekend rotation required
- Floating to other units as needed
Qualifications:
- Active California RN license (required)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU nursing experience; 4 years preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting
- Perform continuous monitoring and evaluate changes in patient condition with timely interventions
- Administer medications, ICU therapies, and advanced monitoring technologies according to care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patient families to ensure coordinated, optimal care
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and participate in code blue events as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system
- Support a culture of safety, advocacy, and respect for patient rights
- Float to other critical care units as required, adapting to different team dynamics and patient populations
